New Perspective On Life: Be Present And Take Action

Being positive is fooling yourself.

The definition of being positive is ”hopeful and confident, and think of the good aspects of a situation rather than the bad ones.” While this is a great mental state to be in, it holds you back in reaching your potential in life.

Two sides of the same coin

Being negative causes you to see life worse than it actually is. Besides being terrible to be around, you are creating a terrible experience for yourself during this brief time on Earth.

The problem with being positive is that you are fooling yourself. When you are broke and out of shape, but you have a positive mindset, you are still broke and out of shape.

In fact, being positive will cause you even more problems, because you might be less inclined to do something about your problems. Because you don't see them as problems.

Your mind is playing tricks on you

Your mind can be your greatest ally, or greatest enemy. Most of the time, it's your greatest enemy. And you don't even realize this.

Your mind, your Ego, is constantly creating and shaping your reality. It's constantly telling a narrative to you. This narrative can be positive, or negative, but it's almost never true.

Your Ego and your mind hate change. So they will do everything within their power to keep you from changing your life.

So, your mind is constantly lying to you.

This affects your business goals, relationship goals, health goals.

If you don't make enough money, and you want to start an online business, your mind will start telling you how difficult it is. How your life isn't that bad at all. It will tell you how everybody else around you is also happy.

You are swimming against the current. With the current being your own mind and thoughts.

The only way to fight against this, is to become aware of this. You can't fight it if you don't even know that you are being fooled! By your own mind for Christ sake!

Every goal you've set for yourself in your whole life and didn't achieve? Your ego and your mind didn't want you to change. So 'you' (your thoughts, your mind) came up with a bunch of excuses why you shouldn't achieve that goal.

When you think about it, why else wouldn't you achieve a goal? The only way to not reach a goal is by quitting. Why do you quit? Because you tell yourself it's not worth it. It's too much work. It's not that important anyway. I'm not good enough for it.

You come up with endless excuses. But this is just your mind that plays tricks on you because it hates change.

Your mind wants to keep your life as it is. Because that's familiar. In a sense, it's protecting you. Protecting you from rejection. Failure. Fear. Wasting energy.

But everything worthwhile, is on the other side of fear, rejection and failure. You can let your mind dictate your life and never pursue anything worthwhile. Or choose the alternative.

The Alternative: Be Present

The solution both the easiest and most difficult you've ever done:

Be present.

When you become aware of the narrative your mind is telling you, you become the boss over your own mind.

Instead of listening and obeying to the voice in your head that says: "you are not good enough for that girl", identify it, and dismiss it. Realize that it's not true.

Be present, become aware of your thoughts. Start judging every thought that comes up. Sit with them, and really ask yourself: "is this true, or am I just afraid of change and rejection?"

Awareness is the bridge between your current life and your future life. The more aware you are, the better your future life is.

Because now, you are still sleeping. You mindlessy accept every thought that comes up. At this point, you are not in the driver's seat.

Your mind and ego are in the driver's seat, and You, (the real You), is in the back. It doesn't matter whether your outlook on life is positive or negative. If you are in the back seat, positive or negative, you still don't drive to your own destiny.

That's why you should become aware: so you can start creating your own life.

Your mind is a mixture, a programming, of everything your parents, friends, and society at large has ever told you. When you follow your mind, you end up where your parents, friends and society at large end up.

You have to become aware of this. Only then can you follow an alternative course.

How to become aware

The easiest way to become aware is to start meditating. Every day. I like to meditate right after I wake up. So that I'm more aware of my thoughts for the rest of the day.

I've been taking micro-doses of mushrooms too and they have been a tremendous help. By micro-dosing psylosobine you identify your thought patterns.

But meditation is key. Key to become aware. Key to start creating your own life.

And take Action

The first realization you have to make is that you aren't your thoughts. And that your ego/mind is holding you back. You do this by meditating and becoming aware. Identify every thought that passes by and judge it.

ask yourself these questions:

  • Why do I think this?

  • Is it my thought, or has it been put in there by someone else?

  • Is it true, or build on nothing?

  • Is this thought serving me, or holding me back?

Do this with every thought and you’ll start to realize how often you are fooling yourself.

The second realization you make is that, when nothing is holding you back, you can achieve your goals.

You do this by taking daily consistent action. Without expecting quick, instant results. This is also a trap of your mind. You write one tweet and expect to start making money. Of course you don't, so you get disappointed and quit.

Be present and aware when you take action, and be detached from the outcome. Don't expect instant results.

For example, you want to become a freelance copywriter. You start reaching out to people. And every DM and mail you send you imagine yourself bringing in that client for $2k/month (been there done that).

Obviously is not this easy, so after you reached out to 20 people, you got 18 'no-reply's' and 2 F*ck off's. You get disapointed because reality is out of sync with your mind. You tell yourself that it's not for you, and you quit.

While if you didn't expect any outcome at all, it's impossible to become disappointed. So there will be no reason to quit!

Get in the driver’s seat

This is what it means to be present and take action. You are in the driver's seat, driving towards your goals. You don't let your mind, your ego, or other people distract you.

You determine where you are going with your life. Don't get thrown off court by the stories your mind tells you. Recognize them as mere thoughts. Realize you are not your thoughts.

Step out into the world with a fresh view. Life because a lot more serious when you realize you are on control. But also a lot more fun.


Next, I want you to start meditating. It's crucial that you become aware of your self talk. Meditation is the way You'll start to realize how much you are holding yourself back.

There's so much potential in you but your ego and your mind are holding you back. Out of fear and rejection. You have to overcome that boundary, that wall.

And start working on a goal. Doesn't matter what, as long as it is important to you. Whether you want to get in shape, start an online business, get into a relationship.

Have a goal, take action towards it, and observe the negative self-talk that's holding you back. Your mind will tell you have you are too fat, to dumb, or too ugly, depending on the goal you are trying to achieve.

Don't let your mind fool you. It's just afraid of change. Realize this, dismiss those thoughts, and reach those goals!
